Marine Life in Plastic Fabric Waste, Series 3 • Acrylic on canvas and fabric waste • 76.0 cm x 61.0 cm • 2.5 ft x 2.0 ft • 2021 • by artjamila
Interpretation: The world has not overcome the COVID-19 pandemic until today. Everyone’s lives had to change for the new normal like wearing mask made of plastic polymer (polypropylene fabric). For many years, the world has been battling with plastic waste in the ocean. Now, we are adding to the waste in the ocean from our masks, destroying marine life. This painting describes marine life in a beautiful ocean which is covered with plastic fabric waste.
This plastic fabric is interpreted into the form of a fabric collage which is superimposed onto the beautiful marine life in the form of naïve art.
Let us preserve the happy emotions of marine life and keep the ocean clean for the sake of improving global climate change. Let the marine habitat remain healthy and happy, which in turn save our climate.
