Interpretation: Reality can be harsh. The Covid-19 pandemic is like a layer of oil in the sea of our lives that keeps us from breathing. This painting is about those who are stuck at the bottom. They face challenges that pile up from unemployment, the distancing of relationships and mental health issues from the lack of contact and many more. The various expressions painted on this canvas represent a struggle of anger, shock, momentary happiness and depression. The heads are close to each other, showing how fast one's mood can change due to the hectic life in the pandemic.
