05.06.2020: Artjamila awarded as Young Malaysian Visual Artist in the World Generation Z (“Generation Z: Creative and committed against the virus”) by Agence France-Presse, in Paris, France (AFP), “Generation Z: Creative and committed against the virus”, was featured in more than 200 media in all the 6 continents of the world.


2020: Artjamila’s painting (Our Heroes Series 3) was shortlisted in a global painting competition under the category contemporary art, which was open to all artist around the world.

Theme: “United Against Corona: Express Through Art”,

Organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)



05.05.2020: 1st PLACE AWARD in a competition at an Asian level (Category B: age 13 to 19) organised by Artdialogo Asia under the theme “A Salute to Our Frontliners Around the World”, an intercultural initiative connecting Philippines, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, South Korea and Lebanon to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.


10.06.2020: CHOICE AWARD in an international contest called Earthly Art Competition under the theme “CLIMATE ACTION” organised by Think City in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day on 22nd April 2020, “Express your Message for the Earth through Art”.


2020: Artjamila as a young artist ambassador, appointed as an IMPACT ARTIST 2020-2022 by ViaTalenta Foundation from Switzerland for sea pollution awareness. The foundation purchased 8 pieces of Artjamila’s paintings on fish mosaic and sea pollution to be displayed at a world platform for sea pollution awareness.


2021: First Place Award Painting Competition “This is Pahang” organized by University College of Yayasan Pahang in collaboration with Tourism Pahang Malaysia and Majlis Pemulihan Malaysia.



2020: “INCENTIVE AWARDS, “Pameran Terbuka Galeri Shah Alam 2020 (PTGSA2020)“, under category Acrylic on canvas titled “Embracing Coronavirus, Series 1”. PTGSA2020 was officiated by DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah AlHaj, the crown prince of Selangor.

02.04.2019: Autism Star Award “NATIONAL AUTISM CHAMPION 2019” in conjunction with World Autism Awareness Day. The award was presented by the Deputy of Women, Family and Community Development minister and the chairman of NASOM.

15.11.2019: PRESIDENT’S SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD for Putrajaya Sculpture, MIP MyPlace Award_Award2019, Excellent in Placemaking.

ARCA PUTRAJAYA won an award under “MIP MyPLACE AWARD 2019: Excellence in Placemaking”. The award given was the “President’s Special Recognition” conferred to Putrajaya Corporation (PJC).

Arca Putrajaya (2.4 m high x 22m length) is a landmark city sign designed to rejuvenate and enliven the Putra Square, a place of identity known as the “heart of the administrative capital” in Putrajaya. It is a major attraction for tourists and visitors as a must destination to be visited in Putrajaya, a #hotspotzone. Every year, there are 6 to 7 millions visitors who visit the sculpture. At night, it is filled with family leisure activities and creates well-being for a happy city. Artjamila’s painting was selected because the painting, titled “Unity in Diversity Skyline Series 3”, was suitable for the Merdeka celebration of 2019. The painting represented the multiracial community in Malaysia living in harmony as one nation.

MyPLACE AWARDS 2019 recognises excellence in placemaking efforts by organisations and communities to improve public spaces which bring positive impacts and benefits to their local communities, creating a sense of place to the public.

2018: Selected work for “Danajamin Mightyrun 2018” by Danajamin National Berhad.

3,000 participants took part in “Danajamin Mighty Run 2018 (DMR2018)” including participations from the general public of all ages, corporate figures and parents of/and autistic children. Also present at the event was YB Hannah Yeoh, the Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development to flag-off the 5KM (Fun Run) & 10KM (Competitive) categories. DMR2018 had successfully raised RM 110,000.00 for NASOM.

12.05.2020: Featured Artist for edible cake decoration in conjunction with World Nurses Day.


On 12 May 2020, artjamila’s painting titled “Our Heroes Series 1” was chosen to be used as a tribute to the nurses for World Nurses Day by a group of generous people who decided to raise funds to send cakes to celebrate this day with our nurses and 3,500 frontliners at Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Sungai Buloh Hospital. The painting was made edible and pasted onto the cake as a decoration. This act of appreciation was a huge success.

The collaboration started in 2019. This project transforms the characteristics of Artjamila’s naïve art from her “Cats in Baskets” series into fashion. Bright and vibrant colours used in the composition of the paintings are incorporated into the fashion design. This collection of designs is targeted towards the youth, especially for female trendsetters, fashion leaders who keep track of the latest fashion trends and people who are confident in their own style.

28.09.2020: Artjamila’s painting “Our Heroes Series 2” was featured in Malaysia Urban Forum 2020 (MUF2020) OPENING CEREMONY by Urbanice Malaysia as a momento to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the honorable Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Hj. Muhyiddin Hj. Muhammad Yassin. MUF2020 was Malaysia’s first hybrid global conference on urbanization – an interactive virtual platform and physical discussion.


24.10.2020:  Artjamila was featured in ArtMalaysia Magazine, Issue 1 on the frontpage with good coverage on her painting stories. ArtMalaysia’s 1st e-magazine issue covers about Malaysian artists, international artists and sculptors, art exhibitions, new art galleries, and performance art with a touch of local culture and tourism in 69 pages (including the cover page).

2021: Selected artists to exhibit in HOM Art Open 2021, an online exhibition by HOM Art Trans on 13 – 21 March 2021.


HOM Art Open 2021 is an annual exhibition that seeks to provide a platform new talent, young & establish artists to showcase their artworks. The initiative aligns with a pursuit close to our hearts, that is to nurture budding artists in Malaysia. This year, we received over 100 submissions for the open call; a total of 47 artists have been selected to participate in this year’s exhibition. This showcase will highlight artists who are new to the industry, and bursting with potential and capability; we are certainly excited for the chance to highlight their work. Comprising of a varied selection of paintings, sculptures, printworks, and installation, the chosen artworks will be featured on our website, as well as all our social media platforms.
